Anne-Marie Charrett (Australia)

Anne-Marie is known to everyone knowing their way around testing as testers know it. She’s shared her expertise in wonderful sessions in various testing conferences for years. She is known for her deep insights into how we practice to become better testers, as well as seeing the big picture in software development and how testing as testers know it fits in. In addition to being an inspirational tester, she is s co-creator the Speak Easy program for introducing new speakers into the testing field.

Chris Matts (UK)

Chris Matts is a programme manager/project manager/business analyst who specialises in delivering trading and risk management systems in investment banks. He was involved in BDD in the early days. Dan North and Chris developed the “GIVEN-WHEN-THEN” template together. Since then he has been working on Feature Injection. Whilst BDD provides a neat interface between the business and the development team, Feature Injection helps the business prepare a comprehensive set of examples to feed the BDD machine. Whilst looking to price the option that exist naturally in an Agile development process Chris tripped over Real Options.

Erik Talboom (Belgium)

Erik Talboom is a people-centric agile technical coach for software craftmanship, who loves challenging people’s personal and professional status quo. He’s well respected professional amongst his peers in developer-centric software craftmanship community. He is also wonderful to be around for testers, as he has experience from showing up voluntarily to share and co-learn in testing conferences. He describes himself as facilitator, coach, trainer, craftsman and infinite gamer. Erik lives in Belgium.

Linda Rising (USA)

Linda Rising is brilliant speaker with a strong agile slant, and we have invited her to do the opening keynote with us inviting everyone for two days of deliberate practice in testing. Linda is the author of a book Fearless Change, and speaks from her vast experience to the hearts of people. She’s known to move people to tears with her touching stories on how we change the world, intertwined with practical advice on how to do things.

Alexandra Casapu (Romania)

Alexandra Casapu does software testing at Altom. The environment she works in has facilitated her learning on the importance of context in testing, the exploratory approach, and caring a great deal about improving her testing skills. Her focus on her current project is on achieving a balance between working on understanding the users and their needs and collaborating effectively with the technical team. After finishing school in the educational system, she took full responsibility of her learning. Since then she enrolled in BBST courses, followed courses on Coursera, read challenging books, had coaching sessions on testing, presented at various conferences. In 2013 her presentation was voted for the do-over session at EuroSTAR. She was in the program committee for Eurostar 2014.

Christina Ohanian (UK)

Christina Ohanian’s passion and strengths lie in agile software development in particular the practice of Behaviour Driven Development. She cares about helping teams and individuals learn and understand the value of practices such as Scrum and Kanban, learning about iterative development and faster feedback loops. As an avid agile evangelist, she is passionate about helping build and support self organising teams and individuals from the ground up and she loves learning about people, their passions and what motivates them. As a member of the agile community of practice, she is a regular speaker at many conferences and have been involved with organising many workshops and Open Space sessions. Christina is also a Graphic Illustrator and enjoys bringing this into the workspace and meetings.

Claudia Roșu (Romania)

Claudia Rosu is a software developer heading her way towards Software Craftsmanship. With 6 years experience in e-commerce and eHealth industries, her focus is to deliver quality software. Agile, Lean and XP practices are in daily use for the last 3 years of her career. As she believes in learning through sharing, she is an active member of AgileWorks and Agile Lean European communities. When she is not coding and developing software products, you can find her facilitating an agile or technical meetup.

Claudia emphasizes her versatile interests “I like programming, but I also like to analyze, discuss, pair-up and do what I have started to name ‘social programming’. I think that it is not enough for a developer to be a great coder, she has to be an efficient communicator, a good negotiator and an innovator.”

Daniel Billing (UK)

Daniel Billing has been a tester for 14 years, working within a diverse range of development organizations, mostly in the south west of England. He lives in Frome, Somerset and currently works as a test engineer at New Voice Media, where most of his time is spent working on the security testing needs of the business. This includes mentoring, supporting and training members of the team to use these skills also. Dan is a community builder with local meetups in the Bristol and Bath area, and a co-facilitator for the Weekend Testing Europe chapter. He’s shared his lessons on security testing in various conferences, and now joins us to teach security testing in a workshop.

Emma Keaveny (UK)

Emma Keaveny is an enthusiastic tester. She delivered her first conference talk at TinyTestBash, and it was so great we invited her to share it with us for a wider audience. Emma works for Interica on archive and retrieval software. This can prove challenging at times having to learn and navigate around various operating systems and databases. It is an ideal place to learn and hone in on new testing skills and tools that she has picked up and is enjoying every minute of it. She is also co-organiser of BrighTest Actually, a Brighton based testing meetup where fellow testers get together either for a few drinks, games or some interesting talks. Wherever Emma can get involved in testing you will see her there, always looking to improve her skill set, learning new techniques and trying them out.

Franziska Sauerwein (UK)

Franziska Sauerwein has worked as a software developer and consultant for three years before moving to London to join Codurance and completing her apprenticeship there. Her passions include Test Driven Development, Refactoring, XP techniques and high quality software development. She is always trying to improve her skills and share knowledge.

As an active member of the European Software Craftsmanship community she loves to participate in unconferences and organizes code retreats, hackathons, coding dojos as well as tech talks. She aims to use her skills and creativity to develop software that is reliable, easy to adapt and doing what it is supposed to do.

Gita Malinovska (UK)

Gita Malinovska has worked in various technology companies in the retail and banking sectors as well as running her own web development company in Ireland, and is now the QA Champion at Earthware Ltd. In this role Gita is responsible for quality assurance across all of the responsive websites, mobile apps and complex web applications created by Earthware for their clients in the healthcare industry and other sectors. Gita is constantly exploring ways of improving her own testing capability as well as driving up the quality of output across Earthware’s development and operational teams.

Jesse Alford (USA)

Jesse Alford has made a career of listening to good advice. He doesn’t have the sense to know that the idealistic things he’s been told to do (like: pairing, exploration, TDD, BDD, and Continuous Integration) don’t work; he just goes on succeeding with them anyway. He’s an engineer and noted exploratory tester working for Pivotal in San Francisco on Cloud Foundry, the open-source Platform as a Service. He insists his bios include the phrase “he built his own keyboard, like Jedi build their own lightsabers.” His cats are reputed to be adorable.

Julian Harty (UK)

Julian Harty aim is to help the world have justified confidence in software and all the fancy, and even the humdrum, technologies that affect many of our lives. Over the last 35 years he’s been involved in engineering and fixing technological systems and helping the humans who are involved in them. In the last decade he’s worked for several of the global high-tech companies including Google, eBay, Salesforce, and helped others. For the last 3 years he’s become increasingly involved in initiating, establishing and supporting e-learning education in various countries to help disadvantaged people learn and teach using mobile technologies. In his spare time he earns a living, and is part way through his Ph.D. in using mobile analytics to improve development and testing of mobile apps. Llewellyn Falco (USA)

Llewellyn Falco is a technical agile coach, an international speaker and the creator of the open source testing tool ApprovalTests. He spends most of his time programming in Java and C# specializing in legacy code. He also volunteers creating courseware and teaching kids to program. He’s a co-author of the Mob Programming Guidebook available on LeanPub.

Maaret Pyhäjärvi (Finland)

Maaret Pyhäjärvi is an exploratory tester extraordinaire from Finland. She speaks at various conferences and delivers trainings frequently. Recently, she has been specializing in teaching in a mob format: whole group working on one computer creating a shared learning experience. She now joins Daniel Billing as a facilitator of a testing mob to deliver Security testing workshop.

Mieke Gevers (Belgium)

Mieke Gevers has been in software testing for more than twenty-five years, and has become a specialist in the testing techniques and processes relating to Test Automation and Performance Testing & MOnitoring. Mieke shares her experiences frequently, at conferences and seminars worldwide.

She was a member of the Eurostar’s 2007 & 2009 & SEETest’s 2009 Program Committee. Since 2011, she became the Program Chair of the International Conference on Business, Testing & Developing, named “BTD” (former Belgium Testing Days). She also co-founded “the Belgian Testers Organisation” and is a board member of KVIV(Ie-net software testers community) and BNTQB.

Peter Kofler (Austria)

Peter Kofler is a software developer since 15+ years and has specialized in re-engineering large code bases. He likes his code being in order. Obviously he is fanatic about code quality. After years of harassing his colleagues with clean code and continuous integration, he was officially appointed “Code Cop” in 2006.

Despite the horrors of legacy systems, he is still enthusiastic about writing code. He is interested in code quality tools, code generation techniques and modern languages like Ruby or Scala. He helps teams of Software Developers to raise the quality of their work and improve their productivity. He regularly facilitates Coding Dojos and Code Retreats. Richard Bradshaw (UK)

Richard Bradshaw is a friendly tester with a real passion for testing. Currently working as an Independent Tester after having set up Friendly Testing Limited in 2014, he has been testing for over 8 years now. He’s a big advocate of automation, but not the silver bullet type, the type that really supports testing and testers. He is very technically minded and encourages the use of tools. He considers himself a student of testing and is always looking for new ideas and inspiration to improve his testing skills. He is active in the testing community, hosts #NottsTest in Nottingham, and co.counder of the Midlands Exploratory Workshop on Testing (#MEWT)

Rikke Simonsen (Denmark)

Rikke Simonsen is a project manager in a Danish consultancy specialized in building complex websites in Drupal. She has a background in computer science and has throughout the years filled the roles of both a web developer, technical tester and business analyst, giving her a good understanding of the various roles in an agile team. She’s passionate about agile testing and BDD and is the organizer of the “Copenhagen BDD Meetup”.

In her spare time she supports families affected by autism. Having 3 children with autism herself, a disorder that affects the ability to communicate properly in social contexts, she has both a special interest and many years of experience in how to solve communication problems. Her professional and personal life therefore correlates well giving food for thought both ways.

Roy de Kleijn (The Netherlands)

Roy De Kleijn is a Test Consultant with a true passion for technical testing. He has a lot of experience in automated testing of webservices, performance and websites. He is always trying to find a way to transfer knowledge to colleagues who are interested in the automated testing of software.

He worked on a test automation implementation at Aspider Solutions International, a Telecom company. He succeeded to create automated tests for the core functionality, such as functional flows and mediation process. After this assignment he was hired by Spil Games, worldwide market leader in online casual games, where Roy de Kleijn made a robust test automation framework, for functional / web services testing.

He speaks at conferences and provides practice oriented Selenium trainings.

Ru Cindrea (Finland)

Ru Cindrea is a senior test consultant and managing partner at Altom Consulting. With more than ten years of experience in software testing, she is particularly interested in mobile testing and automation with a special interest in mobile games. Ru is an instructor for the Black Box Software Testing series offered by Altom in collaboration with KFA (Kaner-Fiedler Associates). She is one of the organizers of the Test Lab, an open-space concept organized at testing conferences where participants practice testing and learn from their peers.

Simon P. Schrijver (Netherlands)

Simon P. Schrijver is a very experienced all-round tester, who has worked since 1997 as tester, test coordinator and test manager. He has several years of experience using SBTM as a test approach. Since 2005, Simon works as an independent consultant. He visits annually at least two conferences and two training sessions to keep his knowledge up to date and where necessary, broaden/deepen his knowledge.

Simon is also an active member of TestNet and (co-founder) of the Dutch Exploratory Workshop on Testing. In these communities of enthusiastic testers he is active with peers and discuss with them on the testing profession to keep up to date and improve them selves.

Abby Bangser

Abby Bangser has been working as a Quality Analyst with ThoughtWorks since 2012 with key interests in bridging the gap between the different development team roles and growing the QA community. Experiences include crafting and delivering both internal and external training programs as well as a diverse portfolio of client work. Before coming to ThoughtWorks Abby worked in real estate investments and she continues to stay active in youth lacrosse coaching.

Abby joins the conference on the Speak Easy slot, as a new and coached speaker. She has great stories to share from practical work, and all she really needs from a program like Speak Easy is a little encouragement and support to share what she knows at international conference arenas.

Thomas Sundberg (Sweden)

Thomas Sundberg is an independent consultant and contractor based in Stockholm, Sweden. He has been working as a developer for more than 25 years.

Thomas has a Masters degree in Computer Science from the Royal Institute of Technology, KTH, in Stockholm. He has taught programming at The Royal Institute of Technology, KTH, one the leading technical universities in Sweden.

Thomas has developed an obsession for technical excellence that translates to software craftsmanship, clean code, test automation and continuous deployment. His definition of done is working software, in production.

Wouter Lagerweij (The Netherlands)

Wouter Lagerweij is an independent Agile Coach operating out of The Netherlands. He loves spending time with teams and organizations to figure out how to improve the way they make software, and make it more fun. To make that happen he uses the knowledge and skills gathered in about eighteen years of experience applying Agile processes and practices from XP, Scrum, Kanban, Lean and Systems Thinking. To turn those improvements into real business opportunities, he’s added Lean Startup/Lean Enterprise approaches.
